Oshawa Fibre Art Show
Nine members of our Guild travelled to Oshawa (Wenda, Carol, Linda, Deb, Alice, Sue and Marie on November 7, 2014 and Marilyn and Tina on November 8, 2014) to attend the 12th Annual Oshawa Fibre Art Show. The Art Show showcased 100 original works of fibre art by several Ontario artists:
The Centennial Albert United Church was a wonderful venue for this fibre art show. The show was a spectacular display of works from very talented artists. The techniques were varied and used many types of fibres: paper mache, wire, wood, embroidery, machine stitching, thread painting, silk fibres, hand dyed cottons and wools, copper and many more. These works were so inspiring.
A visit to the Soper Creek Yarn shop in Bowmanville was part of the excursion and I believe all of us brought home a little something from that store.
It was another great day!
