Guild member Jan led the members in a very interesting project using, in large part, recycled materials. The main body of the crow consists of recycled wool sweaters that have been felted. In lieu of this, new wool felt can be used. The crows can be embellished with a variety of items; yarn, silks, ribbons, buttons, beads, etc. etc.
The crows became a hit with most of the guild members. Many crows were made; and, we even had a wedding (see photo below). The crows were also very popular with the visitors to the April 5, 2014 Peterborough Fibre Arts Festival and were all sold very quickly. The crows were also a hit at the May 10, 2014 ONN AGM and our Guild received the Excellence in Needlework Award for our crows that were part of our display at the meeting. The crows continue to be made.
