“The aim of Guild is to encourage and promote a sincere interest in the art of embroidery, needlework and creative stitchery.” All this began in 1985 and we were pleased to be invited to the 30th Anniversary Celebration held on September 22, 2015 and held at the Lions Community Centre in Cobourg, Ontario. Five of our members joined the festivities. Members of Guilds from Belleville, Peteborough, Scarborough and Toronto were all invited to help celebrate.
There was a wonderful display of stitching work completed by the Northumberland ladies. And I don’t think anyone went home without purchasing something from the Vendors that were also present.
A lovely lunch was served by the Lions Centre and there was a ceremonial cake-cutting by founding member Vivian Foster.
The Northumberland Hills Stitchery Guild offers lectures, instruction, seminars and workshops to their members and welcome all who are interested in joining regardless of experience.
