A big thank you to our President – Fiona – for offering a class on Botanical Printing. Over two days, 18 members attended at Fiona’s home for a very informative session.
The plan was that each participant would be able to create an 11 inch x 60 inch habotai silk scarf as well as a 6 inch square square of cream felted wool blanket and a piece of linen suitable for embroidery. Fiona provided all the materials, and pre-mordanted the fabrics, prepared a dye bath, and gathered some leaves/flowers beforehand so that the participants could start in to the fun part of arranging the material for printing. Participants could also bring their own plant material for printing.
