December 11, 2019 brought our Guild together to celebrate another Christmas. Thanks to Linda V., Kelsey’s Restaurant was again the site for our Christmas “party”. We missed our members who could not make it, however, the 24 of us who could, once again, had a wonderful time.
Star Ornaments were once again the ornament of choice to be “traded”. Each star gift was wrapped and numbers were assigned when they arrived. Numbers were drawn and it was a wonderful surprise when the ornament was unwrapped. They were all so different and there were lots of “oohs” and “aahs”. Two stars were unable to be unveiled at the luncheon but are included in the pictures below.
Christmas Luncheon 2019
Before our Christmas Luncheon Mary Anne provided us with a little bit of homework for a bit of fun. She provided us with a couple of limericks. Below is an example of one:
There was a young lass from Dorset
Who loved to embroider her corset.
She stitched up the side
And with braid strong and wide
Made a hook for it to hang on the faucet
Our homework was to see what we could do with the following and compose a final line. Or write our very own and bring it to the luncheon. The winner gets a prize!
There was a pretty young miss from Jakarta
Whose Stumpwork was full of errata
So she pulled out her floss
And cried “I am the boss!
A number of our members provided us with some humorous final lines plus brand new limericks. Good job ladies. An honourable mention goes to Suz with the winner being Marilyn B. who wrote three wonderful limericks about her joining our group. She agreed they could be shared here.
Another game was played – What’s in your cell phone game. Jan won this game and who knew someone could have so many contacts that started with the letter “s”. Congrats Jan.
