Fiona’s Show and Tell – The title is “Beech in Winter”. It was inspired by a workshop by Vinny Stanley, but adapted to use an offcut from a quilt, covered in tulle, which then made it easy to applique the leaves to the surface, and then add some embroidery embellishment with perle cotton. I used an actual winter beech leaf as the template for the transparent leaves – which are similar to the dried leaves that stay on the trees through winter.
