Fiona’s Embroidered Note Cards – All of the cards shown below were created using a process adapted from a workshop taken with Anne Kelly https://annekellytextiles.com/ through the Textile Artist Stitch Club. The pictures were printed on regular paper on an ink-jet printer, and the sandwiched between a layer of fine cloth (I used an organdy) and a fine white tissue, with a 50:50 mixture of white glue and water painted on each layer with a broad brush. They were left to dry on a plastic mat, and then ironed between layers of parchment paper to flatten. This results in a fairly stiff but stitchable piece. I chose 3 colours of stranded embroidery floss for each photo to embellish the photos. The cards were ordered online from Deserres.
