I just finished another pandemic project which is also my entry for the latest stitch challenge at the San Francisco School of Needlepoint And Design: “When This You See Remember Me”. The embroidery shows a tracing of my hand and two of my granddaughter’s hands when she was two, and thus is titled Our Hands. I’d planned to add more as she grew, but could not find the ones I traced when she was four. I plan to create a new piece once they are found.
Once stitched, the hands seemed to blend a bit, since the threads used were similar, so I fabric painted the hands to help differentiate them. Alas, there was a bit of feathering. Tinsel Trading supplied some vintage metallic threads and sequins for the challenge.
